could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
Signal word to indicate a potentially haz-
ardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in minor or moderate injury.
ATTENTION
Signal word to indicate a potentially haz-
ardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in product or property damage.
7 Safety instructions
ATTENTION
Attention!
When using products, several safety warnings must
be observed to prevent injuries and damage. For this
reason, please carefully read this operating manual/
safety instructions. If you hand the product over to
another person, please hand over this operating
manual/safety instructions as well. We accept no lia-
bility for accidents or damage that occur due to a
failure to observe this manual and the safety instruc-
tions.
Follow the safety instructions
Keep all safety information and instructions for
future reference!
7.1

General safety instructions

• National regulations may restrict the use of the
product.
• Ask the seller or another specialist to explain how
to use the product safely - or participate on a spe-
cialist course.
• Minors may not work with the product - except
children over 16 years who are trained under su-
pervision.
• Keep children and other people away while using
the product. Distractions may cause you to lose
control of the product.
WARNING
It is necessary to keep third parties away.
People should keep a safety distance of at least 15
metres from the work area.
• Watch out for animals during use.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away
from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or
long hair can be caught in moving parts.
• Always wear safety gloves, safety goggles, hearing
protection, sturdy shoes and long trousers when
working with this product.
WARNING
Tool attachments may be sharp and become hot
during use. Always wear protective gloves when han-
dling the tool attachments.
• Switch off the product:
– when the product is not in use, is being trans-
ported or is unattended.
– when checking the device, it is raining or when
removing blockages.
– when cleaning or performing maintenance or
changing accessories.
– after contact with foreign objects or in the event
of abnormal vibrations.
• Note that the operator or user is responsible for ac-
cidents or hazards to other people or their proper-
ty.
• Persons who are unfamiliar with the operating man-
ual may not operate the product.
