Operation
Information on sawing
General Information
With this order, you work safely with the
sabre saw and achieve a good result:
1. Clamp the workpiece. Use a clamping
device for small workpieces.
2. Draw a line to specify the direction in
which the saw blade is guided.
3. Hold the device securely by the handle.
4. Set the mitre angle.
5. Set the stroke strength.
6. Turn the device on.
7. Wait until the device has reached its full
stroke rate.
8. Place the footplate on the workpiece.
9. Slowly move the device along the
marked line, pressing the footplate firmly
down onto the workpiece.
10. Do not apply too much pressure in the
cutting direction. Let the device do the
work.
11. Before shutting down the device, switch
it off and wait for it to come to a com-
plete standstill.
Selecting pendulum motion
The larger the pendulum motion, the faster
your progress.
Optimal pendulum motion can be estab-
lished through practice; the following set-
tings are recommended:
• For thin material, hard material (e.g. met-
al) or for cutting curves: Level 0
• Fine and clean cutting edges can be
achieved with little or no pendulum mo-
tion: Level 0 or 1
• Soft material (wood, plastic, etc.): Level 2
or 3
Meaning
• Battery is fully
charged
• stand-by (No bat-
tery inserted)
Battery is charging
Battery is overheated
Battery is defective
Plunge sawing
Requirements
• Soft materials such as wood, aerated
concrete, plasterboard etc.
• Mitre angle: 0°
• Short saw blade fitted (see also )
Procedure (Fig. F)
1. Place the tool with the front edge of the
footplate (12) on the workpiece. The saw
blade (18/17) does not touch the work-
piece.
2. Switch on the tool. Wait until the maxim-
um stroke rate has been reached.
3. Press the saw blade (18/17) into the
workpiece until the footplate (12) rests on
the workpiece.
4. Continue sawing along the cutting line.
Inserting and removing the
battery
WARNING! Risk of injury due to uninten-
tional start-up. Only insert the battery into
the device once the device is fully prepared
for use.
NOTICE! Risk of damage! An incorrect bat-
tery can damage the device and battery.
Inserting the battery
1. Push the battery (4) along the guide into
the battery holder (5).
You will hear the battery click into place.
Removing the battery
1. Press and hold the battery release (32) on
the battery (4).
2. Pull the battery out of the battery holder
(5).
Switching on and off
Switching on
You can regulate the stroke rate continuously
with the on/off switch. The more you press
the on/off switch, the higher the stroke rate.
1. Insert the rechargeable battery (4) into
the device.
2. Press the switch lock (1).
3. Press the On/Off switch (2).
The LED work light (22) lights up.
4. Release the switch lock (1).
Switching off
1. To turn it off, release the on/off switch (2).
