Cut out and glue rudder horns
We recommend the use of the enclosed GRP control horns, for a stiff and robust cross linkage. In order to give customers the option
of also installing LDS or IDS linkages, the control horn cut-outs have deliberately not been pre-milled.
For a cross linkage as we recommend, the following cut-outs should be made.
Before milling, please check the positions in (picture 1).
Please take the cut-out dimensions from (picture 2).
Now the control horns (picture 3) can be ground and glued in place using Uhu Endfest or thickened 24h resin.
Make sure that the hinge point is exactly above the hinge axis.
Surface servo installation
Sand the gluing surface well and degrease it with cleaner. (Picture 4) The servo arms for ailerons and flaps should be shortened so
that the linkage rods can be hooked into the 2nd innermost hole.
This corresponds to approx. 10mm from the centre line of the output drive. (Picture 5)
Mount the servos on the servo frame with cling film to protect them from glue when gluing. (Picture6)
To protect the surface of the wing during the following work, tape the cut-outs around the outside. Now the servos with servo horn
and linkage can be inserted into the cut-out as a test. (Picture 7)
Make sure that the linkages can come out of the centre of the linkage cut-out of the wing without tensioning. Now glue the servo
holders with thickened resin into the wing and fix the servo against slipping. (Picture 8)
When the glue has cured, remove the servo and check whether the servo holder is fully glued.
Aileron / Flap linkage
Attach the servo arms at servo centre position. To adjust the differentiation, adjust the clevis so that the ailerons are 6mm up in neut-
ral position, measured inside. Mounting the flap servos
Attach the servo arms at servo centre position. To adjust the differentiation, adjust the clevis so that the flaps are 5 mm down in
neutral position, measured inside.
If you now adjust the servos electronically via your remote control so that your rudders are at 0, you will have the necessary more
deflection in the desired direction.
Installing the wiring harness
The kit includes a ready-made fuselage and wing cable set - soldered and insulated with all the necessary parts such as M6 plug
holders incl. screws and UNI plug fuses.
Electrical connection wing / fuselage With the GP-14 4 wing servos are to be connected. These are connected to each other at the
fuselage / wing transition with the green 6-pin MPX M6 sockets / plugs. The fuselage is already prepared at the root rib for the
matching M6 connector holders. You can simply pull the wiring harness into the wing and connect/secure the Uni connectors. The
fuselage wiring harness can be final installed later.
