14. Inspection and general information
If there is any doubt about the safe condition of the system or its components, they must be replaced
•
immediately. This must be carried out by the manufacturer or another competent person.
Systems damaged by a fall must be withdrawn from use and returned to the manufacturer or a competent
•
repair workshop for maintenance or repair and retesting.
Do not make any changes to the product.
•
Repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer.
•
An instruction manual / inspection book is supplied with every rescue harness with carrying function. These
•
must be kept with the equipment.
The contents of the instructions for use of the products used in conjunction with the rescue harness with
•
carrying function and the applicable accident prevention regulations must be observed.
• The declaration of conformity can be downloaded from the Internet at www.mittelmann.com.
• As required, but at least once a year, an inspection must be carried out by the manufacturer or by an expert
(see point 12 Operational test). This inspection must be documented and dated in the inspection logbook
supplied. In addition, the next inspection date must be visibly noted on the type plate (e.g. with an
inspection sticker).
• The rating plate with date of manufacture and serial number is located in the rating plate pocket with the i
symbol on the left shoulder strap (e).
If the equipment is resold to another country, the reseller must provide instructions for use, maintenance,
•
periodic inspection and repair in the language of the other country.
The rescue harness with carrying function must not be used for fall arrest purposes.
