• Only natural pieces of split log may be burned (dry and untreated according to the Verord-
nung zum Bundesimmissionsschutzgesetz (Ordinance of the German Federal Pollution
Control Act)). The length of the split log must be adapted to the depth or width of the com-
bustion chamber.
Split logs with a length of 25 to 30 cm are best suited. The size of the log, as in the case of
commercial split logs, should be about 25 to 30 cm. Heat only with dry wood (residual moisture
under 20%). Wood that is too moist has a caloric value that is too low, leads to sooty discs,
and causes the chimney to become covered in soot.
WARNING!
Danger to life in case of a chimney fire
Do not burn waste, especially plastic! Waste materials contain toxins that damage the
stove, chimney, and environment. The burning of household rubbish is prohibited
according to the BundesImmissionsschutzgesetz (German Federal Pollution Control
Act)! Coated wood waste and chipboard must be burned under no circumstances. Due
to the combustion of unsuitable fuels, shining soot may form in the chimney, which
could result in a chimney fire. In case of a chimney fire, close all air openings on the
stove immediately and inform the fire brigade.
Observing our instructions, however, will exclude the possibility of a chimney fire.
– In the heating phase, supply both primary and secondary air to the wood. After that, the
primary air is closed and controlled via the secondary air.
Note:
The log must not be flush with the sectional areas of the combustion door! This leads
to the sightglass becoming covered with soot.
Fundamentally, wood as fuel can controlled only conditionally.
For this reason, an even burning is only limitedly possible. To a limited extent, the output can
be influenced with how the wood is added and the amount added; i.e., large logs reduce the
burning speed and promote even burning. Small logs burn faster and lead to higher output in
the short term. Due to the strong exhaust process with wood as fuel, smoke may enter the
room when the combustion chamber door is opened.
• We recommend that the combustion chamber door fundamentally not be opened before
the fuel has burned down to embers.
Operating recommendation for coal products
Here, the fuel amount should fundamentally be adapted to the heat requirement so that the
maximum permissible amount of fuel is filled only in case of a high heat requirement. The
adjustment of the burning rate via the primary air controller and thus the heat output also takes
place according the heating requirement. Since the output depends on the flue (delivery pres-
sure) among other things, the practice operation will give you the experience you need to make
the right adjustments. The lowest combustion settings is the maintenance of the embers. For
the maintenance of the embers overnight at the lowest heat requirement, 2-3 pellets or 2 kg
can be added without the ashes having to be shaken down before hand. In the process, the
primary air controller (controller 3) is set to minimum air supply, i.e., to "0."
Removing ash from the stove
Ashes must be removed from the slow combustion stove by moving the rotary grid lever (shak-
ing lever) back and forth after a fuel filling has burned off. By moving (shaking) the rotary grid,
the ashes fall into the ash box. Any unburned portions are removed through the combustion
chamber door at the front.
