Note:
The primary air is closed automatically after the heating phase (automatic starting func-
tion); you fundamentally no longer need to change the setting. You can find information
regarding the solving of problems in the transition period or in case of flue problems in
the following pages.
When using hard coal as fuel: Regulated slow combustion
Preparation:
– Shake loose the bottom of the cast trough using the shaking rod and remove the ashes
from the cast trough so that a sufficient supply of combustion air is guaranteed. Check the
ash box and empty it if necessary.
Heating phase/establishing the basic embers:
Burning hard coal requires sufficient "basic embers," which is achieved as follows:
– For heating-up, we recommend using a chimney or barbecue lighter with fine, dry wood.
– Set controller 2 to MAX. When the wood is burning, add 2 kg of hard coal.
– Do not leave the stove unattended during this initial firing phase so that you can control the
fire.
• Controller 1: Completely closed
• Controller 2: MAX position opened
• Controller 3: Closed
Regulated slow combustion with hard coal:
– After the basic embers have been established, the stove can be filled with the highest per-
missible fuel amount of 2 kg hard coal for slow combustion.
– Shake loose the bottom of the cast trough using the shaking rod so that a sufficient supply
of combustion air is guaranteed.
– The positions of controllers 1 and 3 remain unchanged.
Now all you need to do is to set the rotary power controller (controller 2) to the desired position.
In the process, the following applies:
• Position 1: Low heat output, extended initial firing phase
• Position 4: High heat output, reduced initial firing phase
• Intermediate positions of the controller are permissible, of course.
Regulated slow combustion with lignite as fuel
When using lignite pellets, you should fundamentally proceed as in the case of hard coal, but:
• Controller 3: 1/4 opened (absolutely must be observed!)
