lesion, check if the exposed length of the electrode
and other specifications are identical with the
specifications on the labels.
(2) Check the location of the EUS or scope when
targeting the lesion for accuracy.
Caution: Refer to the user's manual for warnings
and how to use the EUS or scope.
(3) The fixed part of the insertion length should be
locked by the screw at the point of zero (0) before the
electrode is inserted into the instrument channel of
the EUS or scope.
Caution: Keep the electrode tip in the sheath
when combining it with the EUS or scope.
(4) Connect the connection luer with the instrument
channel luer by turning the handle of the electrode
after the electrode is put in the instrument channel of
the EUS or scope.
Caution: Do not change the tip length before the
electrode is connected to the EUS or scope. Doing
this may cause damage to the EUS or scope.
(5) Adjust the insertion length of the electrode by
loosening the screw on the insertion length
controller and moving the controller onto the target
position. Then, tightly lock the screw on the
controller.
Caution: Inserting the electrode's tip without
tightly locking the handle screw on the insertion
length controller may cause the electrode tip to be
inserted into an undesired tissue location. This may
lead to perforation or injury by an undesired moving
of the insertion length controller.
(6) Check the location of the lesion to be treated using
the EUS or scope, and place the electrode in the
lesion.
(7) Once the electrode is placed in the lesion, check
that the coolant is flowing out from the electrode's
output tube by operating the pump connected with
the input tube. Turn on the RF lesion generator by
STARmed Co., Ltd.
Electrode for electrosurgical device
[EUSRA RF Electrode]
pressing the START button.
Caution: Do not start the radiofrequency output
before the inside of the electrode tip gets cold. This
may cause carbonization.
(8) Once the procedure is completed, turn off the
POWER switch of the RF lesion generator and pump.
(9) Pull back the tip of the electrode into the sheath
and tighten the screw at the point of zero (0). The
electrode can now be removed from the instrument
channel of the EUS or scope.
(10) Be careful to remove the disconnected electrode
from the instrument channel.
Caution: Be careful that the patient and the
operator are not injured by the electrode's tip when
removing the electrode from the EUS or scope.
(11) Follow the user's manual when removing the EUS
or scope from the patient.

(1) Connect the electrode to the surgical instrument
and then check whether it is properly connected.
Caution: Before inserting the electrode into the
lesion, make sure whether the exposure length of
the electrode and other specifications match the
label.
(2) Insert the EUS and Scope into the lesion to be
treated, and then check the location of the lesion.
Caution: For instructions and precautions about
the use of EUS and Scope, see the user's manual of
the corresponding products.
(3) Before inserting the electrode into the instrument
channel of the EUS and Scope, check whether the
insertion length locking part is placed at "0".
Caution: When the electrode is inserted into
the EUS and Scope while the tip of the electrode
comes out of the sheath, it may damage the EUS
and Scope.
