Electromagnetic compatibility
The device is intended for operation in EMC industrial environments.
Ensure an EMC-compliant installation as described in the Operating Instructions
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109744171).
NOTICE
Interference emission/interference immunity
Operation of the device may cause radio interference in residential environments.
Additional measures are required if higher electromagnetic interferences are expected at the place of use than intended for
industrial environments according to IEC 61000-6-2 (e.g. ESD).
Radiofrequency radiation
CAUTION
Immunity to radiofrequency radiation
The device has an increased immunity to radiofrequency radiation according to the specifications on electromagnetic
compatibility in the technical specifications.
Radiofrequency radiation above the specified interference immunity limits can result in device malfunctions.
Persons are injured and the plant is damaged.
•
Prevent radiofrequency radiation.
•
Remove radiation sources from the environment of the device.
•
Switch off radiating devices.
•
Reduce the radio output of radiating devices.
•
Observe the information on electromagnetic compatibility provided in the Operating Instructions
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109744171).
•
Observe the information in the technical specifications.
ATEX/UKEX/IECEx device intended for use in hazardous areas
If the device is intended for use in a hazardous area (gas-air or gas-dust mixture), observe the separate information on this in
the relevant Operating Instructions (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109744171). The intended use (e.g.
ATEX zone, degree of protection, temperature class) is indicated on the product (usually on the nameplate).
Note
As a rule, country-specific requirements for the owner also apply when a product is used in hazardous areas (e.g. Directive
1999/92/EC for the EU).
IP6x degree of protection
CAUTION
Personal injury or property damage due to damaged seals
When properly installed, the panel devices have IP6x degree of protection on the front and the PRO devices have IP6x
degree of protection on all sides. If device seals are damaged, for example, during maintenance work, moisture or liquids
can enter the device or the enclosure or cabinet. This may result in personal injury or property damage due to short circuit
or electric shock.
Check the device and its seals for integrity before installation. Take care not to damage the device seals during installation
and maintenance work.
Display and touchscreen
CAUTION
Personal injury or property damage due to damaged touchscreen
Improper handling, such as applying massive force or operating the panel with sharp or pointed objects, can damage the
touchscreen of the device. A damaged touchscreen can lead to anything from malfunctions in the plant to physical injury.
Observe the notes on proper handling of the touchscreen in the relevant Operating Instructions
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109744171). Immediately replace any device that has a defective
touchscreen.
