DANGER
Electrocution risk when control cabinet is open
When you open the control cabinet, some areas or components may, possibly due to other devices, be under life-
threatening voltage.
Touching these areas or components can cause death or serious physical injury.
Always disconnect the control cabinet from the power supply system before opening it.
Ensure that the power to the control cabinet cannot be turned on accidentally.
Observe the safety rules for working on electrical installations.
WARNING
Mechanical danger
Secure the device adequately against falling during installation or removal.
Applies to built-in devices: The enclosure or cabinet in which the device is integrated must guarantee protection against
electric shock and the spread of fire. The enclosure or cabinet must meet the requirements for mechanical strength and the
degree of protection for the relevant application.
Use PRO devices with a support arm or pedestal system suitable for your application that provides at least IP6x degree of
protection of the PRO device. The support arm or pedestal system and the associated fasteners must be dimensioned for the
total weight of the device and for all acting forces.
Observe the notes in the documentation of the control cabinet or support arm/pedestal system and in the relevant
Operating Instructions (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109744171).
CAUTION
Danger of burns
The surface of some devices can reach temperatures of over 65 °C. These devices are identified with a corresponding label.
Any unprotected contact may cause burns.
Avoid direct contact with the device during operation.
Touch the device only with appropriate protective gloves.
Battery and rechargeable battery
WARNING
Risk of explosion and release of harmful substances
Improper handling (e.g.: reverse battery connection, damage) of lithium batteries may result in a battery explosion.
Explosion of the batteries and the resulting release of harmful substances can cause severe physical injury. Worn batteries
jeopardize the function of the device.
Note the information in the Operating Instructions (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109744171) when
handling lithium batteries.
Peripheral devices
CAUTION
Fault caused by peripheral devices
The connection of peripheral devices can cause faults in the device. The result may be personal injury and damage to the
machine or plant. Observe the following:
Connect only peripheral devices that are suitable for industrial use as defined in IEC 61000-6-2.
Non-hot-pluggable peripheral devices may only be connected after the device has been disconnected from the power
supply.
Damage due to power feedback
Connected or built-in peripheral devices, such as a USB drive, are not permitted to supply any voltage to the device. Power
feedback is generally not permitted; it could damage the device.
