5. Configuration of the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE)

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the Device Server software for
optimal performance. Please follow the steps below:
1. Preconfigured default settings:
The EX-6005HMVS(-PoE) is delivered with the most important default settings for a
smooth initial setup:

Password: admin
•
IP-Address: DHCP (automatically assigned)
•
Device Release: On
•
Connection Password: admin
•
Activate Connection Password: No
•
USB-Device Control: On (Activated)
2. Factory default settings (after resetting by pressing the reset button):
Please note that the factory default settings, which can be restored by pressing the reset
button, differ from the preconfigured default settings mentioned above:
•
Password: admin
•
IP-Address: 192.168.5.252 (static)
•
Device Release: On
•
Connection Password: admin
•
Activate Connection Password: No
•
USB-Device Control: On (Activated)
3. Install the USB administrator utility (under Windows):
If DHCP is enabled on the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE), an IP address is required for
configuration. This can be obtained by installing the USB Administrator Utility under
Windows. The Windows-based USB administrator utility is a valuable tool for determining
the IP
(EXSYS_CUDS_Rx.xx_Setup_xxxxxx.exe) and installed as administrator.
4. Determine the IP address:
Open the USB Administrator Utility via the Windows desktop shortcut and select
"Auto Search
"Remote Server(s)" window at the top right. If the "Auto Search (on LAN)" does not find
the device server (e.g. if it is on the Internet and not on the local network), enter the IP
address manually and click on "Search".
