4. Hardware Installation

Please follow the installation instructions below. As there are major differences between PCs and
networks, we can only provide general instructions for connecting the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE). If you
are unsure, please refer to your computer system's user manual or contact your network
administrator.
1. If If you wish to mount the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE) on a DIN-Rail, use the supplied DIN-Rail kit.
2. Connect the supplied power supply to the DC socket or another compliant power supply to the
terminal strip. For the PoE version, this step can be skipped if a PoE supply is available via the
network cable. Please note that the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE) requires approximately 20 seconds
to initialise its services.
3. Connect the RJ45 connector to your PC, switch, router, etc. using an Ethernet cable. Check
that the green RJ45 LED flashes to confirm a successful network connection.
4. Connect your USB devices to the USB ports of the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE).
5. You can now install the appropriate software on your PC.
6. Now connect your USB devices to the USB ports of the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE).
