5. Configuration of the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE)
Description: A user-defined descriptive string containing information about the USB
device. The string must be in a one-word format without spaces.
Conn. Passowrd: This is the password for the server connection to prevent
unauthorized access to the USB device. The password must consist of a single word
without spaces.
Enable Password: Set this option to "Yes" to activate the connection password
mentioned above. Set the option to "No" to deactivate it and allow all clients to connect
and use the device.
Force Disconnect: If you click on this button, the device is forced to disconnect from the
connected client. Please note that if the device is set to "Connect forever", it will
automatically reconnect after disconnection. However, if the device is connected to the
"Connect" button, it will disconnect without reconnecting.
System Management: Enables the import/export of server settings for convenient
configuration across multiple devices. Firmware updates can also be carried out online.
Change Password: Allows you to change the server login password.
Restore Default: Restores the preconfigured default settings.
Reboot Server: Use this option if a restart of the EX-6005HMVS(-PoE) is required, e.g.
due to network problems or to reset devices for the applications.
Logout: Logging off is important, especially when configuring in the Windows GUI. This
action releases the socket port connection of the server so that other users can log in.
With the Windows user interface and the web-based configuration program, you can
efficiently adapt your EX-6005HMVS(-PoE) to your specific requirements and thus
ensure optimized use and optimum performance.
