How to Tell if Food is Properly Dried:
• Fruit should have a flexible and leathery texture after drying, with low moisture content
(less than 20%).
A common mistake is "overdrying" fruit, which can reduce its taste and nutritional value.
To preserve the best flavor and quality, follow the recommended drying time.
• Vegetables should be chewy and slightly crisp once dried. Keep in mind that texture
may vary depending on the type of vegetable.
Storing Dried Food
• Proper storage is essential to maintain the quality and flavor of dehydrated foods.
Make sure all dried food is kept in a cool, dark place. The lower the temperature, the
longer the food retains optimal quality.
• If possible, store in a refrigerator or freezer. If not, choose a cool place in the home.
• Light negatively affects both the quality and nutritional value of food, so it is important
to keep it out of direct sunlight.
• Store food in sealed bags or opaque containers to protect it from light and moisture.
• The naturally high sugar and acid content in many fruits helps extend their shelf life.
With proper packaging and storage, most fruit lasts up to one year. Vegetables can
typically be stored for about 6 months.
• If fruits or vegetables show signs of spoilage (e.g. discoloration, odor, or mold), do
not consume them.
Rehydrating Dried Foods
Dried foods can be easily rehydrated using water. There are three main methods:
1. Soaking in cold water: Soak fruit and vegetables in cold water for 2–6 hours. Make
sure they are kept in a cool environment during this time.
2. Soaking in boiling water: Soak foods in boiling water for 5–10 minutes until they
reach the desired texture.
3. Rehydrating by cooking: Fruit and vegetables can also be rehydrated by cooking.
Do not add spices or sugar during the cooking process.
The recommended ratio is two cups of water to one cup of fruit.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Drying trays are dishwasher safe.
• Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquids. Clean it only with a slightly
damp cloth and dry thoroughly before storing.
• Store the appliance in a clean and dry place, ideally in its original packaging.
