Installation instructions
Safety instructions
This device contains parts that could cause sparks or
a light arc!
Only qualified technicians may assemble and connect electri-
cal devices!
Ensure that the power supply has been disconnected! Discon-
nect the mains plug!
Only use the specified cable cross-sections and fuses of the
correct strength!
After it has been installed, the device must be disconnected
from the mains. This can be achieved by making the mains
plus (cold device plug / X0) accessible after installation or by
installing a switch (all-pole separation) in the permanent instal-
lation in agreement with the local installation regulations.
The installation of the device must comply with the techni-
cal and administrative provisions of the respective country
in which it is used (e.g. EN 1648). National regulations and
guidelines must be observed.
Assembly
(See page 2, fig. B).
The device should be installed away from damp and wet.
The installation site should be clean, dry and well ventilated.
During operation, the casing can heat up to around 80 °C.
Ensure that the ventilation slits remain free! Inadequate
ventilation can cause the device to overheat!
The installation space for the device must have ventilation
openings at the top and side that provide a total opening
surface of 100 cm².
Liquid electrolyte batteries need to be placed in a separate
box with ventilation directed to the outside. The gel and AGM
batteries do not need a separate box. Observe the installation
regulations of the battery manufacturer.
Secure the device with four screws (diameter 5 – 6 mm – not
countersunk head screws). The screw length and torque de-
pend on the underlying surface.
Handling the cage tension spring clamps
Prepare the connection cables. The cable ends for the bat-
tery connections (large cage tension spring clamps) must be
stripped 12 – 13 mm. Cable end sleeves are not required.
The spring terminal can be opened up with the aid of a suit-
able slit screwdriver.
Insert the tip of the screwdriver into the upper, square open-
ing, and push on the spring terminal. The spring terminal in
the lower, round opening opens up.
Insert the cable into the spring terminal as far as the insula-
tion (lower, round opening) and remove the screwdriver. The
tension spring clamp closes again and the cable is securely
clamped.
Repeat the process for all connections to the terminals
X1 and X2.
Make sure that the cable ends sit firmly in the cage tension
spring clamps!

Connection
Before connecting or disconnecting from the cables,
ensure that the power supply is completely interrupted!
To do this, disconnect the mains or couplig plug from the tow-
ing vehicle and disconnect the battery.
Cable lengths and cross-sections
Model complies with EN 1648-1 und VDE 0100, Part 721.
Energy source / consumer connection
Connect the device with the power source and the battery
according to the wiring diagram. Check that the terminals are
connected correctly.
Always position the fuses close to the energy source.
Only use the specified cable cross-sections and fuses of
the correct strength!
Charging control panel
Connect the device with the power source and the battery ac-
cording to the wiring diagram. Please ask your dealer. Insert
the charge control panel on the X4 connection.
Truma Temperature Sensor
If you use a temperature sensor for battery II, stick the tem-
perature sensor to the face side of the Battery II (supply
battery). To do this, remove the protective film from the adhe-
sion point on the temperature sensor and press firmly at the
required position on the Battery II (see description tempera-
ture sensor). Connect the cable of the temperature sensor
to the temperature sensor connection of the device (2-pin
connection).
For temperature-controlled battery charging, we recom-
mend using a Truma temperature sensor, especially with
AGM batteries. Please ask your dealer.
Battery type change-over switch
Set the battery type (AGM, gel, liquid = liquid electrolyte) of
your battery II on the battery switchover.
Cable fixing
Secure all cables (e.g. to energy sources, consumers and ac-
cessories) with cable ties (see page 2, fig. D).
Main supply connection
The device must be connected to the mains power supply in
accordance with the local installation regulations.
The 230 V electrical connection must always be made by an
expert (in accordance with VDE 0100, part 721 or IEC 60364-
7-721, for example, in Germany).
Connect the power cable to the main distributor of the
caravan, motorcaravan or boat. Green / yellow cable to the
protective earth!
Final tasks
–
Check all connections are tight.
–
Create the network connection via the female device plug
with the 230 V mains cable.
–
Attach the clamping space cover.
