Before use for the first time
Remove all packing material.
•
Clean the kettle by filling it with water and bringing to a boil – do this three times,
•
disposing of the water each time.
Tip: When boiling for the first time, you can use vinegar or special descaling agents.
•
Use
1. Make sure the spout is facing away from you.
2. Pull up the lid handle (1) to open the lid (2).
3. Fill the kettle with the required quantity of water (at least 0.75 liters, and a maximum of
1.7 liters). Never fill water above the 'max' limit - hot water could spatter out.
ATTENTION: Do not spill water on the base.
4. Close the lid.
5. Place the kettle on the base, then insert the plug in the wall socket. Press the power
button.
6. The kettle is now switched on, and you can select the function according to the above
operation instructions to boil the water.
7. When the water has come to a boil, remove the kettle from the base by the handle, and
pour the water out.
ATTENTION: To prevent scalding, do not touch the hot water.
8. If you want to heat water without boiling it, you can switch the kettle off at any time.
9. Remove the plug from the wall socket when you have finished using the kettle.
Overheating safeguard
This kettle has an overheating safeguard. It will switch the kettle off if it is used without
(sufficient) water. Before using the kettle again, allow it to cool down for at least 10
minutes.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Remove the plug from the wall socket, and allow it cool down.

Clean the kettle with a damp cloth. Never immerse the kettle in water. Never put the
•
kettle in a dishwasher. Make sure that the electrical connections do not become damp.
If the interior of the kettle becomes severely discoloured, clean it with a damp cloth and
•
a little washing soda. After cleaning, rinse the jug very thoroughly.
ATTENTION:
• Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as
knives or hard brushes) to clean the appliance.
Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool down.
