CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool down.
• Clean the jug with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water. Never put the
appliance in a dishwasher. Ensure the electrical connections do not become damp.
• If the jug's inside has become severely discoloured, wipe it with a damp cloth and a tiny
amount of washing soda. After cleaning, rinse the jug thoroughly.
ATTENTION
• Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as knives or
hard brushes) to clean this appliance.
• Before cleaning, ensure the appliance is unplugged and completely cool.
DESCALING
This appliance has an integral heating element, so limescale will not form – descaling is
generally not necessary.
If you still wish to descale the appliance, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
2. Remove and clean the descaling filter from the jug kettle.
3. Fill the jug with a vinegar solution up to the 'MAX' level and boil.
4. Let the vinegar solution sit in the jug for a couple of hours.
5. Empty the jug, fill it with clean water to the 'MAX' level and boil. Empty the jug. Repeat
this process twice.
Important! Never use ammonia or other chemicals to descale the appliance. These can
be harmful. Only use vinegar solution or special descaling agents from retailers.
