2 Safety Notes

This camera corresponds to the directive for electro-
magnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
The transmitter is suitable for indoor use only. Pro-
tect it against impurities, humidity, and heat (admis-
sible ambient temperature range -10 °C to +55 °C).
Do not break off or scratch the antenna (4). It is
rigidly mounted. Do not try to pull the antenna out of
the unit.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not connected or operated in the
correct way or not repaired in an expert way, no
liability for any damage will be accepted.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
take it to a local recycling plant for disposal.
3 Applications
In combination with a receiver of the "AV-..." series
from MONACOR, the transmitter AV-3010TX serves
for wireless audio and video transmission. With addi-
tional units from the MONACOR range, a wireless
video surveillance system can be built.
The transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions and the receiver used. In the open,
the range can be up to 500 m, in buildings up to 50 m,
depending on the condition of the walls.
3.1 Approval
According to the R+TTE regulation (Radio and Tele-
communication Technical Equipment), the approval of
the transmitter is valid in the countries of the Euro-
pean Union. For operation outside the EU, please
contact your retailer or the MONACOR subsidiary in
the country where this unit will be operated.

4 Setting into Operation

4.1 Placing the transmitter and the receiver
The highest receiving quality is obtained if the anten-
nas (4) of the transmitter and of the receiver are in
parallel. Practical experience has shown that an opti-
mum reception is achieved when placing the units at
a height of minimum 1.5 to 2 m above the ground.
Prior to final mounting, a trial run is recommended as
the transmission quality can be substantially changed
by displacing the units by a few centimetres only.

4.2 Connecting the units
Prior to connecting any units or to changing existing
connections, switch off the AV-3010TX and all other
units of the surveillance system.
4.2.1 Surveillance camera
1) Connect the video output of the camera to the jack
"video" (14) via a 75 Ω coaxial cable.
2) If the camera is provided with a microphone,
connect the audio output of the camera via a
screened audio cable to the jack "audio A" (12), in
case of a stereo sound connect it additionally to
the jack "audio B" (13).
4.2.2 Microphone
If the camera is not provided with a microphone, a
separate microphone can be used. For this purpose,
a microphone preamplifier (e. g. MPR-3 from
MONACOR) is required.
1) Connect the microphone to the input of the pre-
amplifier.
2) Connect the output of the preamplifier via a
screened audio cable to the jack "audio A" (12), in
case of a stereo sound connect it additionally to
the jack "audio B" (13).
4.2.3 Motion detector
In case of activated temporary operation, the trans-
mitter can either be switched on by the internal
motion detector or by a signal at the input jack "trig-
ger" (10). Control via this jack can either be effected
by an AC voltage between 1 and 24 V~ or by short-cir-
cuiting the contacts at the jack (e. g. by an external
motion detector with NO contact).
The control channel can either be activated with
the push-button "switching channel" (3) or via the jack
"switching channel" (11), e. g. to switch on the buzzer
of the receiver or a signal device connected to it (see
operating instructions of the receiver). Control via the
jack "switching channel" is effected in the same way
as via the jack "trigger".
4.2.4 Power supply
For power supply, a regulated power supply unit with
an output voltage between 12.8 and 15 V
output current of minimum 250 mA is required, e. g.
PS-213 or PS-12CCD from MONACOR.
1) In case of power supply units with variable output
voltage, set the voltage to a value between 12.8
and 15 V.
2) Connect the power supply unit via a low voltage
plug 5.5/2.1 mm (outside/inside diameter) to the
jack "DC 12,8-15V" (15). Observe the correct pola-
rity in any case: The positive pole must be at the
inner contact of the plug.
3) Only after all other connections have been made,
connect the power supply unit to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
