1 Verwendungsmöglichkeiten
Dieses Übertragungsset, bestehend aus zwei glei-
chen Signalwandlern, ermöglicht die Übertragung
eines Videosignals über ein CAT5-Netzwerkkabel. Die
Länge des Verbindungskabels kann bei Farbvideosig-
nalen max. 400 m, bei S/W-Videosignalen max. 600 m
betragen. Die Wandlung der Signale geschieht passiv,
d. h. die Wandler benötigen keine Stromversorgung.
2 Wichtige Hinweise für den Gebrauch
Die Geräte entsprechen allen erforderlichen Richtli-
nien der EU und sind deshalb mit

1 Applications
This transmission set consisting of two identical signal
converters allows transmission of a video signal via a
CAT5 network cable. The maximum length of the con-
nection cable is 400 m for colour video signals and
600 m for B/W video signals. The signals will be con-
verted in a passive way, i. e. the converters will not
require any power supply.
2 Important Notes

ture range 0 – 40 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use

3 Anschluss
Den einen Wandler an den Video-Ausgang der Sig-
nalquelle anschließen, den anderen Wandler an den
Video-Eingang z. B. eines Monitors anschließen. In
der Abbildung unten ist ein Beispiel mit einer Überwa-
chungskamera und einem Monitor dargestellt.
Als Verbindung zwischen den beiden Wandlern kön-
nen Datenkabel der Kategorie 5 (CAT5) in der Ausfüh-
rung mit Abschirmung (STP = shielded twisted pair,
gekennzeichnet.
auch erhältlich als S/FTP, SF/UTP oder S/UTP), oder
Kabel ohne Abschirmung (UTP = unshielded twisted
pair, wie z. B. „CAT-5100UTP" von MONACOR) ver-
wendet werden. Die Kontakte der RJ45-Stecker müs-
sen gerade durchverbunden sein („Patch-Kabel"),
d. h. die Adern dürfen nicht wie bei „Cross-Kabeln"
gekreuzt sein.
Die maximale Länge des Verbindungskabels hängt
von der Art des Videosignals ab und kann bei einem
Farbsignal max. 400 m, bei einem Schwarzweißsignal
max. 600 m betragen.

3 Connection
Connect one converter to the video output of the sig-
nal source and the other converter to a video input,
e. g. of a monitor. The figure below shows an example
with a surveillance camera and a monitor.
For connecting the two converters, CAT5 data cables
are suitable: shielded cables (STP = shielded twisted

pair, also available as S/FTP, SF/UTP or S/UTP) or
unshielded cables (UTP = unshielded twisted pair,
e. g. "CAT-5100UTP" from MONACOR). The contacts
of the RJ45 plugs must be connected straight through
(patch cable), i. e. the cores must not be crossed as in
crossover cables.
The maximum length of the connection cable depends
on the type of video signal; it is 400 m for a colour sig-
nal and 600 m for a B/W signal.
