FUNKTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The STREAM Controllable backflow preventer BA for pipe installation contains all the
components specified in DIN EN 1717 and is designed as a 3-chamber system with controllable inlet
pressure, medium pressure and outlet pressure zones. Each pressure zone is equipped with a ball
valve that allows the respective zone and the tightness of the safety device to be checked by pressure
measurement.
If no water is being drawn off, the inlet and outlet valves and the drain valve are closed. The pressure
on the inlet side drops during back suction.
The drain valve of the STREAM Controllable backflow preventer BA for pipe installation opens at the
latest when the differential pressure between the inlet and medium pressure chamber is 0.14 bar.

/ Installation location: Note accessibility for maintenance and inspection!
/ Installation position: drain funnel vertically downwards
/ Note direction of flow (arrow on the housing)
/ The capacity of the drain pipe must be sufficiently dimensioned
/ Recommendation for long-term functional guarantee: Install a drinking water filter upstream of the
tap in accordance with DIN EN 13443-1
/ After installation, vent all three test nozzles (Fig. 5.1 / Fig. 5.2; [a], [b] and [c])
/ The DIN EN 12056 standard must be observed when connecting the drain funnel (Fig. 5.1 /
Fig. 5.2; [d]) to the wastewater system
