1 OVERVIEW
The Dust Tape Roller is used with the Elcometer 142 ISO 8502-3 Dust
Tape Test Kit to press the tape to the surface using a controlled
constant force between 39.2 and 49.0 N (8.8 and 11.0 lbF) as
described in section 6.2 of the Procedure given in BS EN ISO 8502-3
(BS 7079-B3:1993).

The Elcometer 145 Dust Tape Roller is packed in a cardboard and foam
package. Please ensure that this packaging is disposed of in an
environmentally sensitive manner. Consult your local Environmental
Authority for further guidance.
To maximise the benefits of this instrument please take some time
to read these Operating Instructions. Do not hesitate to contact
Elcometer or your Elcometer supplier if you have any questions.
2 USING THE DUST TAPE ROLLER
1. Remove approximately 200mm (8") of tape from
the Elcometer 142 Dust Tape Kit
(Part number E142----1) and Place on surface to
be tested.
2. Place the roller on the tape (at one end) and
push down so all 4 wheels are on the substrate.
3. Move backwards and forwards over the tape
three times in each direction, each stroke taking
for 5-6 seconds leaving approximately 50mm
(2") free.
4. Remove tape and assess using the
Elcometer 142 Dust Tape Kit.
