The air filter (12) should be checked every 50 operating
hours and cleaned as required. The air filter (12) must
be checked more often if the air is very dusty.
1.
Remove the air filter cover (12).
2.
Only clean the paper filter with compressed air or
by tapping it out; replace the filter if it is very dirty.
3.
To reassemble, proceed in reverse order.
Attention: Never clean the air filter (12) with petrol or
flammable solvents.
16.4 Spark plug maintenance / changing the spark
plug (17) (Fig. 15)
Check the spark plug for dirt for the first time after 10
operating hours and clean it with a copper wire brush
if necessary. Then service the spark plug every 50
operating hours.
1.
Remove the spark plug connector from the spark
plug (17) by turning it.
2.
Remove the spark plug (17) with a spark plug wrench.
3.
The re-assembly takes place in reverse order.
16.5 Changing oil (Fig. 16 + 17)
NOTE!
Environmental damage!
Spilled oil can pollute the environment permanently.
The liquid is highly toxic and can quickly lead to water
pollution.
- Fill/empty oil only on level, paved surfaces.
- Use a filling nozzle or funnel.
- Collect drained oil in a suitable container.
- Wipe up spilled oil carefully immediately and dis-
pose of the cloth according to local regulations.
- Dispose of oil as per local regulations.
ATTENTION!
Product damage!
Using the product without or with too little engine and
gear oil can result in engine damage.
- Fill with fuel and oil before commissioning. The
product is supplied without engine and gearbox oil.
DANGER!
Health hazard!
Inhalation of fuel / lubricating oil vapours and exhaust
gases can cause serious damage to health, uncon-
sciousness and in extreme cases death.
- Do not breathe fuel / lubricating oil vapours and ex-
haust gases.
- Operate the product outdoors only.
Change the oil at the end of every season. The engine
oil change should be carried out while the motor is at
operating temperature and switched off.
Use only engine oil (SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40).
1.
Screw the oil filler plug (with scale) (14) anticlockwise
to unscrew it and wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth.
2.
Place a suitable collection bucket under the oil
drain screw (15).
3.
Remove the oil drain screw (15) and allow the old oil
to drain as completely as possible into the collection
bucket. Use a 13 AF open-ended spanner for this.
4.
Refit the oil drain screw (15).
5.
Fill the tank with engine oil (SAE 10W-30/SAE
10W-40) using a funnel. Note the max. filling ca-
pacity of 600 ml. Carefully fill the oil up to the lower
edge of the filling port.
6.
Reinsert the oil filler plug (with scale) (14) and
check the oil level without retightening the oil filler
plug (with scale) (14).
7.
Pull out the oil filler plug (with scale) (14) and read
the oil level in a horizontal position. The oil level
must be in the centre area between the "L" and "H"
markings on the oil filler plug (with scale) (14).
8.
Then screw the oil filler plug (with scale) (14) back in.
16.6 Adjusting the cutter bar (Fig. 13)
• Check the mower unit for cutter bar mower (10) for
damage, loose screws, broken/damaged blades and
rust before starting work each time.
• Lubricate the blades of the mower with a few drops
of SEA-30 oil.
• Attention: Wear protective gloves when checking
the mowing unit to avoid cutting injuries.
If, after some time, the upper and lower blade strips be-
come slightly loose, remove one of the levelling plates
(8c) at all four positions. To do this, proceed as follows:
1.
Remove the hexagonal nuts M8 (8f). Use a 13 AF
open-ended spanner for this.
2.
Now remove a levelling plate (8c) from each of the
four positions.
3.
Refit the hexagonal nuts M8 (8f).
16.7 Changing the mowing bar (8) (Fig. 4)
Note: Wear protective gloves when handling the blades!
1.
Remove the M8 x 25 mm hexagonal bolts (8a)
and the M8 hexagonal nuts (8b). Use two 13 AF
open-ended spanners for this.
2.
Align the holes of the new cutter bar with the blade
holder.
3.
Fit the M8 x 25 mm hexagonal bolts (8a) and the
M8 hexagonal nuts (8b).
