Navigating slopes

You may encounter slopes that you need to move up or down. In such cases, we advise you to always move
forward in a smooth, controlled motion.
6.3.1

Moving up a slope

When navigating a slope independently, we recommend leaning slightly forward. This shifts the centre of gravity
forward, making it easier to move uphill.
Avoid placing extra weight, such as bags or other objects, on the rollator when moving up or down a slope or
obstacle. This increases the risk of tipping (see figures 4h and 4i).
Always move in a straight line to the highest point of the slope. Attempting to move diagonally increases the risk of
falling.
6.3.2

Moving down a slope

When navigating a slope downward, always face forward.
Do not lean forward when moving down a slope, as this may cause the rollator to tip and result in a fall. For greater
stability, lean slightly backwards.
Always move in a straight line down the slope.
If you need to stop while descending, engage the parking brake.
To maintain control, avoid descending too quickly. Use the brakes to regulate your speed as needed.
Tip
Examine a slope or obstacle thoroughly before attempting to move up or down. This allows you to
anticipate any challenges and navigate safely.
6.3.3

Moving on dynamic surfaces

The Excel 3-Motion is not suitable for use on dynamic surfaces such as escalators or moving walkways. For safety
reasons, we advise only using your 3-Motion on fixed, stable surfaces designed for this purpose. Always use an
elevator to transition between floors or levels
