Installing the induction unit
Installation of the induction unit, electric cords, and connecting to the power mains must be done by competent
professionals. Connect only one appliance per power outlet or dimension the entire supply path accordingly
(see Chapter 14 Technical specifications). In any case, the local building and fire code regulations apply.
- Before installing the induction unit, make sure that the glass ceramic surface is not damaged. Otherwise, the
appliance must be replaced.
- The countertop must be stable, heat resistant, and may not be thicker than 30 mm.
- The minimum space below the countertop must be at least 150 mm.
- The induction unit must be installed horizontally.
- The minimum distance between two or more appliances should be at least 200 mm, to facilitate greater comfort
while keeping warming.
- The minimum distance between the ventilation opening of the counter and the nearest wall must be at least
100 mm.
- Cut the required number of openings in the countertop according to the drawing on page 16.
- Close the gap between the glass ceramic surface and the countertop with a sufficiently heat-resistant silicone
sealant.
- The warm exhaust air should be able to escape through an opening at least 10 x 10 cm. Use an appropriate
airflow guiding to prevent the fan from suctioning in the warm exhaust air again.
Danger!
Make sure that all air inlets and outlets are always unobstructed to prevent the built-in induction unit
from overheating or malfunctioning and to prevent the unit from switching off automatically. In case
of overheating, the built-in induction unit must first cool down before it is ready for operation again.
- Install the induction unit in a way that the plug and power cord are easily accessible.
- Make sure that the power cord used does not come into contact with hot surfaces on the appliance or cookware,
other hot surfaces, such as cook tops or hot liquids. Ensure that it does not run over sharp edges and is not
pinched or kinked.
- If you use other electric appliances near the induction unit, ensure that their power cords do not come into con-
tact with hot surfaces.
- Also make sure that the power cord is routed to the appliance so that it does not hang down and no one can
trip over it.
