3. Commissioning, operation
Installation in zone 22 (dust)
The requirements of EN 60079-0 and EN/IEC 60529 must be followed.
The surface temperature of the equipment must not be high enough to ignite disturbed
dust or dust deposited on the equipment.
EN
Without dust deposit

The surface temperature may not exceed 2/3 of the ignition temperature in °C of the
respective dust/air mixture (EN/IEC 60079-14).
With dust deposit
■
On surfaces where a dangerous deposit of ignitable dust is not effectively prevented,
the surface temperature may not exceed a temperature of 75 K less than the ignition
temperature of the respective dust. With layer thicknesses over 5 mm, a further
reduction of the temperature is necessary.

3.2 Electrical mounting

Using a transmitter/digital display (option):
Observe the contents of the operating instructions for the transmitter/digital display (see
scope of delivery).
Built-in transmitters/digital displays have their own EC-type examination certificate. The
permissible ambient temperature ranges of built-in transmitters can be taken from the
corresponding transmitter approval.
Observe the special conditions (see chapter 4 "Special conditions for use (X conditions)",
point K).
In terms of connection, the thermometer has a case and a connector or bare wire ends.
The case design will contain the connection terminals or certified transmitters. Optionally,
separately certified digital displays can be built into the cases.
