4. Special conditions for use (X conditions)

1) The minimum neck length is defined as the distance between the lower edge of the connection head and the heat-
emitting surface.

B) The model TR40, TC40, TR50, TC50 cable probes must be fitted with bend protection,
strain relief and mechanical protection.
C) The model TR40, TC40, TR50, TC50 cable probes should only be operated up to the
transition sleeve in hazardous areas. The connection side (plastic piping) must be kept
outside of the hazardous area.
D) The model TR40, TC40, TR50, TC50 cable probes must be connected to ground
through their installation.
E) The transmitters used must have a valid declaration in accordance with the ATEX
guidelines, related to their equipment classification (see table "Equipment category
classification").
F) The temperature resistance of the connection leads, the connection heads, the cable
entries and if necessary the blind plugs must be at least as high as the max. permissible
ambient temperature.
G) For cases without external earth connection (e.g. model WIKA BVS). The earth
connection must be completed by the end user via a process connection. The
connection shall correlate to minimum 4 mm². External earth connection shall be
corrosion-resistant and locked against rotation. It shall be ensured that the connection
is electrically conductive and cannot be interrupted.
H) A suitable thermowell and a suitable Ex e-certified cable gland or enclosure with a
minimum ingress protection of IP54 shall be provided by the end user (in the end-use
application, the minimum degree of protection of IP54 shall be maintained) which
must fulfil the applicable requirements of EN/IEC 60079-0 and EN/IEC 60079-15 or
EN/IEC 60079-7, EN/IEC 60079-31.
