4.2 Activating the machine
1. Disconnect the charging cable (230 V) from the
machine.
2. Assume the driving position.
3. Depress the pedal (1:D) and then turn the starter
key (1:E) to position 2.
4. Carry out the remaining points according to the
general safety checks given above. The ma-
chine is now ready to use.
4.3 Stand-by
To preserve the batteries the machine will switch
to stand-by in the following cases:
• If there is no activity within 2 minutes of the
machine being activated.
• If the operator leaves the activated machine for
more than 2 minutes.
In stand-by the display goes out and certain func-
tions shut down. To restart the machine from
stand-by, first turn the starter key (1:E) to position
1. The machine is then activated as above.

4.4 Operating tips

Note the following while operating:
Be careful when driving on slopes. No
sudden starting or stopping when mov-
ing up or down a slope. Never drive
across a slope. Move from the top down,
or from the bottom to the top.
The machine must not be driven in any
direction on slopes with a gradient
greater than 10º.
Reduce the speed on slopes and when
making sharp turns to prevent the ma-
chine from tipping over or you losing
control.
Do not turn the steering wheel to full
lock when driving at maximum speed.
The machine can easily topple over.
Keep hands and fingers well away from
the articulated steering joint and seat
bracket. Risk of crushing injuries.
In order to achieve optimum mowing results, fol-
low the advice below:
• Cut frequently.
• The grass should be dry.
• Use sharp blades.
• Keep the underside of the cutting deck clean.

4.5 Stop
Release the drive pedal and the machine will
brake. At the same time the parking brake is auto-
matically activated.
Turn the starter key to position 1, and the machine
switches off.
If the machine is left unattended, re-
move the starter key.
4.6 Cleaning
To reduce the risk of fire and the risk of
short circuit keep the batteries and oth-
er electrical equipment free from grass,
leaves and other contamination.
Clean the machine after use. The following in-
structions apply to cleaning:
• Clean dust and grass off the machine, especially
around cables and other electrical equipment.
• If high-pressure equipment is used, do not point
the washer jet directly at the axle seals or elec-
trical components.
• Do not point jets of water directly at electrical
components.
• Set the cutting deck to the cleaning position (see
below) and rinse off the underside of the cutting
deck. Use water and a brush.
• When the surfaces are completely dry and
clean, touch up the paintwork. Use durable yel-
low paint intended for metal outdoors.
4.6.1 Cleaning position
Set the cutting deck to the cleaning position as fol-
lows:
1. Remove the starter key from the start switch.
2. Lower the cutting deck to the working position.
3. Disconnect the power supply cable (7:C).
4. Detach the rear section of the deck on the right
and left-hand side as follows:
A. Lift up the left-hand rear section of the
deck slightly to reduce the load from the
cotter pin (9:E).
B. Remove pin and washer.
C. Remove the right-hand cotter pin and
washer in the same way.
5. Grip the front edge of the deck and lift up. Hook
on the chain so that the deck is pointing diago-
nally upwards. See fig. 10.
It is absolutely forbidden to start the
motor when the deck is in the cleaning
position.
6. Lower the deck to the ground in reverse order
after the corrective actions have been carried
out. Reset the deck according to 2.4.19.
