No matter, which program is running, the red Heat icon is shown on
the lower right edge of the display, as soon as the oven compartment
is hot.
Depending on the selected program, your food, and the desired consistency, you
may place your food into the oven, before starting the program, or wait until the oven
compartment is preheated. See: 'Important Notes for Operation'
8. Press the selection dial for starting the program with the settings shown on the
display.
400°C programs only: The oven begins operation always with the pre-
heating program ("Preheat"). This program is fixed to 160°C (320°F)
and 8 minutes ("8:00"). The red message "Preheat" appears on the
display and the left upper button in the "High Temperature" section illu-
minates. When the preheating time elapsed, the preheating program
issues an acoustic signal, the oven light illuminates and "Open" and
"Fill in" are displayed in alternation. Now, the oven waits for you to
place your food into the oven compartment.
9. When you preheated the oven, place your food into the oven, as soon as the
preheating is finished. Thereafter, close the oven door.
– For normal programs: With these programs, there is no automatic preheating.
After using a separate program for preheating, you need to select, set up, and
start your cooking program manually as described above.
– For 400°C programs: The oven starts the selected program automatically, after
opening and closing the oven door once. This is required for starting the coo-
king time.
The baking tray may get distorted during cooking, caused by the incre-
asing temperature. However, this will not influence the functioning.
When the baking tray cools down, it will regain its original shape.
10. Especially during your first tries with the oven, we recommend to check the done-
ness and browning of your food, while the program is running. For this, you may
switch on the oven light via the light button (bulb icon). When opening the oven
door, the oven light will be illuminated automatically.
11. Some types of food need to be turned, stirred or moistened with juices during
cooking. Various programs issue an acoustic signal during runtime, for giving you
the optimum moment for this. However, the program continues operation without
any interruption.

12. When the program is finished, the oven issues 3 beeps, displays "OPEN" and
"End" in alternation, and the oven light illuminates automatically. If required, pro-
tect your hands with oven mitts and take out your food.
When your food needs a little more cooking, you may leave it in the
hot oven for some further seconds or minutes. If this is not sufficient, start
the program again. In this case, supervise the cooking process closely.
Do not place the hot accessories with your food on heat-sensitive sur-
faces! Do not cut your food on the accessories of the oven to avoid
damage to the surfaces.
13. If you wish to cook some more food, turn the selection dial or press a button for
switching back to the table of programs.
14. If you do not wish to use the oven again, wait until the fan stops operation
(approx. 4 minutes). Then unplug the appliance. With the oven door open, leave
the oven cool down completely. Thereafter, clean the oven.
INTERRUPTING THE RUNNING PROGRAM
You may interrupt a running program at any time you like.
•
Simply press the selection dial shortly. The oven deactivates the heating elements
and permanently beeps. For resuming operation, press the selection dial again
shortly.
•
When you open the oven door, the running program will be interrupted auto-
matically. In this case, the oven light illuminates. The program resumes operation
automatically, as soon as the oven door is closed again.
On the display "Pause" is shown in red, whenever you interrupt a program, no mat-
ter, how this is done.
We recommend to avoid interrupting the cooking programs for an
extended period of time. This holds especially when opening the oven
door and/or using a 400°C program, because the temperature within
the oven compartment may decrease significantly, when the heating
elements are deactivated. With some types of food, this may lead to
a diminishing consistency.
