1. Proper Use
The Powerlec Vario Plus is a hand-held, battery-operated device for punching round and shaped holes in steel, stainless steel and aluminum sheets and must
not be used for stationary applications.
Under favorable conditions, it is possible to punch some plastics and fiberglass (soft plastic compounds punched with sharp tools). It is imperative to carry out
tests in advance.
The Powerlec Vario Plus can be operated with the following häwa punching tools:
- Standard punches type 2623, consisting of punch, die and matching draw stud
- Round punches Plus 2682, consisting of punch, die and matching draw stud (perfect for stainless steel processing)
- Square, rectangular, shaped and specified punches, consisting of punch, die and matching draw stud/bolt
2. General Instructions
These instructions are an integral part of the product.
They are meant for skilled persons in industry and trade and for instructed persons. Only these persons are able to put the battery-operated device into ope-
ration and to operate and to maintain it properly.
If you still have questions regarding the device or its function after reading this manual, please contact your local sales office or us, the manufacturer, directly.
Please keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference. The same applies to assembly and operating instructions for accessories.
We do not accept liability for any damage caused to or by users or third parties resulting from non-observance of these instructions and/ or abnormal use.

The battery-operated Powerlec Vario Plus punching device has an EC Declaration of Conformity (see attachment) and complies with the specifications of the
Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC when used with an original Makita battery BL1830 (RAL2) or BL1815 (RAL1).
2.1 Explanation of Warning Symbols/Safety Instructions
This symbol provides you with application tips and particularly useful information.
These will help you to make optimum use of all machine functions.
Warning Symbols
This symbol indicates a possible dangerous situation. Failure to observe the warning symbol can result in life-threatening injuries or material
damages.
Never put your hands in the punching area!
This symbol indicates a possible danger of hand injury. Failure to observe the warning symbol may result in cuts, bruises or even shearing off
of limbs.
This symbol indicates a possible danger of slipping, e.g. on oil due to leakage. Non-observance of the warning symbol may result in
anything from minor to severe damage to health.
