metres under the back of the knee, a
thigh stocking should be positioned
around two centimetres under the fold
of the buttock. Tights should be com-
fortable around the waist and the gus-
set should fit securely around the
crotch.
Tip for thigh stockings: To protect the
seam, grip the knit fabric carefully when
putting the compression stocking on - do
not grip the seam of the top band.
Tip for compression tights: Turn the
pair of tights completely inside out. Then
complete steps B and C for each side. Af-
ter this, distribute the material on both
sides evenly and in stages, first pulling up
one side a little, then the other, until the
tights are pulled up to your waist.
Tip for taking off the clothing: Fold the
compression stocking down in stages un-
til you reach the heel. Ensure that you
switch between the sides when removing
stockings (lower one side slightly first,
then the other). When you reach the heel,
grip the knit fabric and pull it over the
foot. If the stockings are ankle stockings,
do not tug on the top band. Ask your me-
dical specialist retailer about handy dof-
fing aids such as the medi Butler Off or
the medi 2in1. They make it far easier to
take off the compression clothing.
9. Storage instructions - how
long can I store my sheer & soft
compression clothing, and how
should I store it?
The products must be stored in a dry
place and out of direct sunlight.
• The hourglass symbol shown on the
box label shows the latest date that the
compression clothing can be used up
until. This has been calculated by add-
ing the maximum storage duration for
standard products, 36 months, and the
maximum amount of time that the
stocking can be used for, six months
(see Section 6), together.
10. Care instructions - what do I need
to take note of in order to maintain
my sheer & soft compression clot-
hing optimally?
• Wash your compression clothing
every day after you have worn it. We
recommend that you use medi clean
or a specially formulated hand wash
detergent to ensure gentle care. Alter-
natively, you can use washing deter-
gent for delicates to wash the clothing
by hand or in the machine (delicates
cycle at 40°C) without optical bleach
or conditioner.
Tip: A net washing bag offers extra pro-
tection for the knitted fabric.
• We recommend that you turn your
compression clothing inside out when
washing it. Wash it separately or with
clothing that is similar in colour.
• If the compression clothing is stained,
we recommend that you use medi
spot ex. Please do not dry clean sheer
& soft compression clothing or clean
it with household agents.
• After washing, you can roll the com-
pression clothing up in a towel and
press it to dry it. Do not leave the
damp compression clothing in the
wet towel, instead let it dry in the air.
Do not place it in sunlight or on a radi-
ator/heating appliance.
• Alternatively, you could also dry your
sheer & soft compression clothing in
your tumble dryer using the delicates
cycle.
• Stretch compression clothing with a
seam (flat knitted clothing) back into
shape after washing.
