Not suitable for the dishwasher
1.
What is not allowed in the dishwasher is cutlery and crockery that is wholly or partly made of
wood. This will make them fade in colour and look ugly. Furthermore, used adhesives are not
suitable for the temperature in the dishwasher. Delicate decorative glassware and vases,
special antiques or irreplaceable porcelain should also not be put in the dishwasher.
2.
The decorative patterns on various items are not dishwasher safe.
3.
Plastic items that cannot withstand hot water, copper and tinted utensils are not suitable for the
dishwasher. Decorative patterns printed or painted on the surface of dishes, glasses,
aluminium and silver items tend to discolour or fade when washed in the dishwasher. Some
types of glass may look dull after being washed in the dishwasher many times. Highly
absorbent materials such as sponges and towels should never be put in the dishwasher.
Recommendations
In the future, only buy tableware or kitchen utensils that have been confirmed to be dishwasher
safe.
Important
Crockery or cutlery soiled by tobacco ash, wax, grease or paint must not be put in the dishwasher.
Damage to glassware and other dishes
Possible causes:
Glass type or manufacturing process.
Chemical composition of detergent.
Water temperature and duration of the dishwasher program.
Suggested solution
Only use glass or porcelain dishes that are marked as dishwasher safe by the manufacturer.
Use a mild dishwashing detergent described as "dishwasher friendly". If necessary, ask for
more information from the detergent manufacturers.
Choose a program with the lowest possible temperature and the shortest possible duration.
To avoid damage, remove glasses and cutlery from the dishwasher as soon as possible after
the end of the programme.
Washing dishes
Program selection
The most suitable program can be determined by comparing the type of crockery, cutlery, etc. as
well as the amount and condition of the food residues with the details in the wash cycle table. The
corresponding program sequence, duration and consumption details are shown in the right half of
the overview.
For example: Use the <intensive or ECO> program for crockery and cutlery that has a lot of food
sticking to it.
