5. Make sure that the locking devices of the extended
shaft and the pivoting element are in locked position.
6. Examine the shrub shear for damages, for example,
cracks. Replace the shrub shear if it is damaged.
7. Make sure that the covers are attached correctly and
not damaged.
8. Make sure that the product operates correctly.
Battery
WARNING:

the operator's manual for the battery and the
battery charger.
Keep the battery and the battery charger in correct
ambient temperatures.

To charge the battery
Charge the battery before the first use.
Note:
The charging process is only possible when
the temperature of the battery is within the permitted
charging temperature range (0–35 °C).
1. Connect the power cord for the battery charger in a
grounded mains.
CAUTION:
mains has the correct voltage and
frequency.
2. Put the battery in the battery charger. The battery
is connected to the battery charger when the green
LED flashes. (Fig. 57)
3. The battery is fully charged when the green LED
on the battery charger is on. Charge the battery for
maximum 24 hours.
4. Disconnect the battery charger from the mains.

5. Remove the battery from the battery charger.

To connect the battery to the product
WARNING:

1. Make sure that the battery is fully charged.
2. Put the battery into the battery holder of the product.
The battery must move into the holder easily, if not, it
is not installed correctly.
a) For Aspire S20-P4A: (Fig. 60)
b) For Aspire S20-P4A + Aspire Pole-P4A: (Fig. 61)
3. Push the battery fully into the battery holder. The
battery locks into position when you hear a click.
4. Make sure that the latch locks in position correctly.
To start the product Aspire S20-P4A
1. Push the on/off button on the user interface (A). The
LED lights come on. (Fig. 62)
2. Push the power trigger lockout (B) from the left or
the right side, and hold the power trigger (C).
