When using electrical products, basic
safety precautions should always be
followed. Read all instructions before
using. Important information is high-
lighted by these terms:
DANGER–urgent safety information
for hazards that will cause serious
injury or death.
WARNING–important safety infor-
mation for hazards that might cause
serious injury.
CAUTION–information for prevent-
ing damage to the product.

WARNING–This CPAP unit
should be used only with masks
recommended by the unit's manufac-
turer, your physician, or respiratory
therapist.To avoid rebreathing of
exhaled air 1) a mask should not be
used unless the CPAP unit is turned
on and operating properly and 2) the
vent hole(s) associated with the
mask should never be blocked.When
the CPAP unit is turned on and func-
tioning properly, new air from the
unit flushes the exhaled air out
through the mask vent hole(s).
However, when the CPAP unit is not
operating, exhaled air may be
rebreathed. Rebreathing of exhaled
air for longer than several minutes
can, in some circumstances, lead to
suffocation.This warning applies to
most CPAP units.

ADVERTENCIA–Esta unidad
CPAP debe usarse solamente con las
mascarillas recomendadas por el
fabricante de las unidades, su doctor
o el terapeuta de respiración. Para
evitar volver a respirar el aire exhal-
ado 1) no se debe usar la mascarilla
a menos que la unidad CPAP esté
encendida y esté funcionando apropi-
adamente, y 2) el(los) agujero(s) de
ventilatión relacionados con la mas-
carilla nunca se deberán bloquear.
Cuando la unidad CPAP se enciende
y funciona apropiadamente, el aire
nuevo de la unidad expele el aire
exhalado a través del(de los) agu-
jero(s) de la mascarilla. Sin embargo,
cuando la unidad CPAP no está fun-
cionando, el qir exhalado puedevol-
verse a respirar. El volver a respirar el
aire exhalado por más de varios minu-
tos puede, bajo algunas circunstancias,
provocar sofocación. Esta advertencia
se aplica a la mayoría de las unidades
CPAP .

AVERTISSEMENT–Cet appareil
CPAP ne doit être utilisé qu'avec les
masques recommandés par le fabricant
de l'appareil, par votre médecin ou par
votre medecin ou par votre thérapeute
en inhalothérapie.Afin d'éviter de
respirer à nouveau les gaz expirés: 1) il
ne faut utilser de masque que si l'ap-
pareil CPAP est mis en marche et
fonctionne de façon appropriée, et 2)
les orifices de ventilation associés au
masque ne doivent être jamais bloqués.
Lorsque l'appareil CPAP est en marche
et qu'il fonctionne bien, l'air renouvelé
provenant de l'appareil nettoie l'air
expiré par l'orifice de ventilation du
masque.Toutefois, lorsque l'appareil
CPAP n'est pas en marche, il puet arriv-
er que le patient respire à nouveau l'air
expiré. La respiration de l'air expiré
pendant plus de quelques minutes peut,
en certaines circonstances, provoquer
l'etouffement. Cet avertissement s'ap-
plique à la pluparte des modéles d'ap-
pareils CPAP .

WARNUNG–Dieses CPAP Gerät
sollte lediglich mit einer vom Hersteller
des Geräts, Ihrem Arzt oder einem
Atmungs-therapeuten empfohlenen
Maske benutzt werden. Um das
Wiedereinatmen ausgeatmeter Luft zu
verhüten, sollte 1) eine Maske nur dann
benutzt werden, wenn das CPAP Gerät
eingeschaltet ist und sachgerecht funk-
tioniert, und sollte 2) die Entlüftungsöf -
fnung (bzw. -öffnungen) der Maske keines-
falls blockiert sein.Wenn das Gerät
eingeschaltet ist und sacherecht funktion-
iert, drückt frische Luft aus dem Gerät
die ausgeatmete Luft durche die
Entlüftungsöffnung (bzw. - öffnungen) der
Maske hinaus. Ist jedoch das CPAP Gerät
nicht in Betrieb, kann es gesche-hen, daß
ausgeatmete Luft wieder eingeatmet
wird. Unter gewissen Umständen kann
ein solches Einatmen ausgeatmeter Luft
zu Ersticken führen. Diese Warnung gilt
für die meisten CPAP Geräte.
