Safety instructions
The pump must be used within the approved areas mentioned in this
instruction book only.
The pump must be inspected frequently by an certified specialist according
to the local valid regulations.
The pump must be connected to a properly installed current supply. It must
always be grounded while transferring hazardous liquids, especially in
combination with a generator as a power supply.
• The supply voltage must be in accordance with the voltage and frequency shown
on the type-plate.
• Always check sense of rotation outside hazardous areas! Sense of rotation
of the fan wheel must be accordingly to pictured arrow on the ventilator housing.
• Always disconnect the pump from the mains before working on the pump.
• Check the mains cable regularly for damage and porous points.
• Never plunge the motor-protection plug into the liquid.
• Maintenance of electrosensitive parts must only be done by an authorized
person.
• The location of the pump must be always visible, also in the dark. Risk of
accident!
• Ensure that the connecting cable is not squeezed, broken or tangled.
• Plug must not be dropped into the liquid
• Do not allow the pump running without liquid in the housing.
• Clean the pump frequently.
• Do not pull the pump over the ground.
• Never run the pump without suction basket or protective strainer.
• Use adequate hoses, fittings and tanks only.
Startup
1. Mind the safety regulations, in particular BGR104 and RL 2014/34/EU (ATEX).
Operate the pump in the approved areas only.
2. Power connection only to a panel according to DIN 14 686 or a generator
according to DIN 14 685 and DIN 14 688. The power supply must be
polarized to "rotary field right hand" VDE 0530.
3. Check the sense of rotation if power supply source is unknown. Proceed by starting
the electric motor for a moment and compare the sense of rotation with the
arrow on the ventilator housing. If the electric motor is running the wrong way,
change 2 phases of the supply line and/or reverse the polarity of the power
source.
4. Set up the pump as closely as possible to the suction point.
Connect the suction pipe and pressure pipe. Never run the pump without
suction basket or protective screen (max. aperture 10 mm).
5. Vent the pump housing by using the hand piston pump. Ventilation is finished
when operation of the hand lever is noticeable harder. The ventilation process
can be monitored at the vaccum gauge.
6. Start the electric motor. The flow begins immediately. (The pump will be
selfpriming when there is minimum 5 liter (1,3 gal.) fluid in the pump housing).
