2.6 Setting the Decoder

Set the desired address with swit-
ches 1 through 8 on the decoder.
Important:
The decoder in the compartment
cars comes from the factory with the
same address as the locomotive
(address 78). When you press the
"function" button on the locomotive
controller, the car lighting goes on
and off together with the locomoti-
ve's headlights. If you like, you can
assign a separate address to each
car.
When all 8 switches are set to "off"
the lighting will also work in conven-
tional AC operation. The lighting is
not visible until there is a higher level
of voltage present in the track.
In digital operation an address for the
lighting should always be set.
