Operation
2.1 Contents of the 55021 Set
The following products are included
in the 55021 train set:
G A model of the class 78 tank loco-
motive
G A model of a three-axle compart-
ment car, 1st class.
G A model of a three-axle compart-
ment car, 2nd class
G A model of a three-axle baggage
car
G A set of figures consisting of 8
seated passengers.

G Service and accessories package
consisting of replacement couplers
for the locomotive and cars,
1 replacement electrical pickup for
the cars, 2 replacement traction
tires, 1 bottle of oil, 1 each right
and left brake hose for the loco-
motive, 2 locomotive pilot irons,
2 protective tubes for piston rods
and 1 figure of an engineer and of
a fireman.
Information about the individual
parts.
G The pilot irons, protective tubes for
piston rods and brake hoses can
be mounted on the locomotive
only when it is being used as a
display model. These parts cannot
be on the locomotive if you intend
to run it.
G The oil included in the set is for
lubricating the locomotive. It is not
suitable to be used as smoke fluid.
The appropriate smoke fluid is
available from your dealer under
item no. 02420.
Information about the
compartment cars
G The compartment cars come from
the factory equipped with a lighting
kit that can be turned on in digital
operation with a decoder integra-
ted into the cars. This lighting will
not work in DC operation. In AC
operation this lighting can be tur-
ned on by changing the address.
In principle the lighting works when
there is a higher level of voltage
present in the track. Only the area
for the crew is lighted in the bag-
gage car. How to set the address
for the lighting decoder is descri-
bed in Section 2.6.
This train can be lengthened with

the 58181 passenger car. This
model also has lighting with a
decoder to control it.
