1. Use the microbiological test procedure to prepare the samples for incubation.
2. Put the sample containers (bottles, tubes or petri dishes) in a sample rack. Refer to
Note: Sample racks can hold six P/A (Presence/Absence) bottles, 39 MPN (Most Probable Number) tubes or
42 MF (Membrane-Filtration) 50-mm petri dishes.
3. Open the lid of the incubator and install the sample rack with the sample containers.

Calibrate the temperature controller
The temperature on the display can be adjusted to read the same value as a certified reference
thermometer.
1. Put a certified reference thermometer in the center of the incubator and close the lid.
2. If necessary, change the incubator set point. Refer to
3. Let the temperature become stable for a minimum of 1 hour.
4. Compare the temperature reading on the display with the temperature reading on the reference
thermometer.
5. If the values are different, put the incubator into the calibrate mode and adjust the value:
a. Push and hold the UP and DOWN arrow keys at the same time until the display flashes.
b. Use the UP or DOWN arrow keys to adjust the reading on the display to be the same as the
reading on the reference thermometer.
c. Let the instrument go back to the reading mode. The temperature on the display shows the
adjusted value.
6. Let the temperature become stable for a minimum of 1 hour.
7. Compare the temperature reading on the display with the temperature reading on the reference
thermometer. If the values differ, adjust the incubator value again.
