RDS (Radio Data System) Reception (Cont'd.)
C. TA Reception
PTY Indicator
5 TA (Traffic Announcement) Identification
Press "TP/TA" to switch on again. The "AF" is also switched on automatically. The "TA" and "AF" indicators will
be illuminated. TP tuning is used for listening to "TP" traffic information programs only. Other programs will be
cut off. Press TP/TA button again to switch off. The "TA" indicator will be turned off.
Notes:
1. During tape or CD play, the "TP" broadcast station can stil! be heard automatically as long as the "TP/TA'" is
received.
2.\f the "TP" indicator is turned off, the "TP" search tuning will automatically operate. (This explanation is also
true during tape playback.)
3. If manual tuning is operated, "TA" will not be available and radio will switch to '""TP'' mode unless the "TP/
TA" is switched on again.
4, if cassette tape is inserted during the "TP" traffic information broadcast reception when "TP" is switched
on, "TA" and "AF" are switched on automatically.
D. PTY (Program Type) Reception
if the PTY button is pressed for more than 2 seconds during reception of a station in the FM1 or FM2 band, the
PTY mode is selected, whereby the "PTY" indicator i/luminates as far as the station transmits a designation for
PTY. (Pops, sports, news, etc.) During reception of a RDS station the type of the program received is displayed.
if a station without PTY designation is received, "NO PTY" indicator will be illuminated.
Program type search Example:
@A desired type of broadcast can be selected by pressing Display
the TUNE buttons "V"" or "AA". The selected type of News NEWS
broadcast is shown on the display. Sport SPORT

@ if the P-SET button is pressed, a station broadcasting selected type of broadcast is automatically tuned.
@ If one of the 1 to 6 buttons is pressed, a preset type of broadcast is recalled. If it is pressed for more than 2
seconds, the type of broadcast selected by means of the TUNE buttons "VV" or "AV" is stored in the memory.
@'!f the button assigned to a stored type of broadcast which is the same as that is listened to now is pressed,
a station airing that type of broadcast is automatically tuned.
@if the DISP button is pressed in PTY mode, the display shows information in Swedish.
Emergency Announcement Reception
If an emergency announcement is broadcasted during CD or tape play, is automatically selected, and "ALARM"
will be illuminated. The previous mode returns after the emergency announcement. (at present not used in
Germany)
