14 Disassembly of the back pressure regulator

Main valve:
Dismantle restrictor block, pilot valve and pilot lines. Remove main valve from pipeline. Undo both pipe unions
and withdraw pipes. Remove Allen bolts and withdraw control insert from housing. Remove setting screw split
pin and relax spring. Remove spring together with seat and split ring. Remove cover, unscrew hexagon nut and
remove together with piston, washer and O-ring. The cone can now be withdrawn from the control insert in the
opposite direction. To assemble the valve the dismantling sequence should be reversed. Please make sure that
the surge orifices mate with the corresponding orifices in the housing.
Pilot valve
Remove the screws securing the pilot valve to the attenuator block. Separate pilot valve from attenuator block.
Relieve the spring. Remove the hexagon socket cap screws. Lift off the spring cover. Remove spring complete
with spring seats and withdraw plunger and bush from the valve body.
For re-assembly the dismantling procedure should be reversed.
Attenuator block
Unscrew the plug and remove the attenuator cone. Remove plug. Withdraw the centering tube from the housing
and remove the spring together with the ball. Unscrew the blanking plug together with its o-ring and backflush
the strainer. For re-assembly the dismantling procedure should be revised.
Important: Do not oil or grease EPDM.
