19 Troubleshooting
19.1 Troubleshooting the Push Sweeper or the Battery
Malfunction LEDs on the
battery
The push swee‐ 1 LED flashes
per does not start green.
when switched
on.
1 LED lights
up steady red.
3 LEDs flash
red.
3 LEDs light
up steady red.
4 LEDs flash
red.
The push swee‐ 3 LEDs light
per cuts out up steady red.
during operation.
The runtime of
the push swee‐
per is too short.
The push swee‐
per can only be
moved with diffi‐
culty.

Cause
State of charge of the
battery is too low.
The battery is too
warm or too cold.
The push sweeper
malfunctions.
The push sweeper is
too hot.
There is a fault in the
battery.
There is a break in the
electrical connection
between the push
sweeper and the bat‐
tery.
The push sweeper or
the battery is damp.
The push sweeper is
too hot.
The overload protec‐
tion has tripped.
There is an electrical
fault.
The battery is not fully
charged.
The battery service
life has been excee‐
ded.
The circular brushes,
sweeper drum
assembly or wheels
are jammed.
The surface pressure
of the circular brushes
is too high.
The gear components
are stiff.
Remedy
► Charge battery as described in the User
Manual for chargers STIHL AL 101, 301,
301-4, 500.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm
up.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the bat‐
tery compartment.
► Insert the battery.
► Switch on the push sweeper.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the push sweeper; contact a STIHL
authorized dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the push sweeper to cool down.
► Remove the battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on the push sweeper.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the battery; contact a STIHL authori‐
zed dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the bat‐
tery compartment.
► Insert the battery.
► Allow the push sweeper or the battery to
dry, 20.4.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the push sweeper to cool down.
► Clean the push sweeper.
► Resetting the overload protection,

► Remove the battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on the push sweeper.
► Fully charge the battery as described in
the user manual for the STIHL AL 101,
301, 301-4, 500 chargers.
► Replace battery.
► Remove the jamming on the circular bru‐
