Flip-up footrest (standard or with
length adjustment):
To elevate:
Pull the footrest upwards and
adjust it to the desired height. You
will hear the footrest click into
place.
To lower:
Lift your lower leg and press the
release lever to unlock the footrest.
You may now lower the footrest.
As soon as you let go of the lever,
the footrest will click back into place.
CAUTION:
Keep hands clear of the adjustment mechanism
between the frame and the movable parts of the
footrest while elevating or lowering the footrest.
CAUTION:
Footrests are not to be used for lifting or carry-
ing the wheelchair with an occupant.
Options – Headrest
Headrest
The headrest can be raised and
moved both forwards and back-
wards. To do this, simply loosen
the screw (1 or 2), adjust to the
desired position, and tighten the
screw (see the page on torque).
Options – Casters
Casters, Caster Plates, Forks
The wheelchair may veer slightly to the right or left,
or the casters may wobble. This may be caused by
the following:
• Forward and/or reverse wheel motion has not
been set properly.
• The camber has not been adjusted properly.
• Caster and/or rear wheel air pressure is incorrect;
wheels do not turn smoothly.
The wheelchair will not move in a straight line if the
casters have not been properly adjusted. Casters
should always be adjusted by an authorized dealer.
The caster plates must be readjusted, and the
wheel locks must be checked any time the rear
wheel position has been altered.
Place a set square on the front end
of the caster adapter (1) to make
sure it is adjusted properly. The
adapter should be perpendicular to
the ground. Once you have loose-
ned the screws (2) and moved the
adapter, you may adjust the
wheels to their optimum position
by moving the corresponding too-
thed segments. When finished,
make sure that all screws have
been properly tightened (see the
page on torque).

90°
Caster Plates
Remove the nut (1) and the axle
from the caster adapter (2).
Position the collar (3) to the
desired chair tilt, taking CAUTION
of the notches located on the top
side (Fig. 23.1).
Notch 1 = 0° tilt
Notch 2 = 2.5° tilt
Notch 3 = 5° tilt
Make sure that the respective
notch is pointing in the direction of
travel. Adjust the collar in such a
way that the axle is as close to
perpendicular to the ground as
possible. When finished, make
sure that all screws have been
properly tightened (see the page
on torque).
Options – Axle Plates
Axle Plates
The position of the body's center
of gravity with respect to the rear
wheels is critical for ensuring easy
and pleasant use of the wheelchair.
Several positions are possible:
moving the axle plate (1) back-
wards along the holes drilled in the
frame (2) will make the chair more
stable, but it will not be as maneu-
verable as it would be if the axle
plate were positioned farther to the
front. You may adjust the seat
height by moving the axle sleeve (3) in the axle
plate. When finished, make sure that all screws
have been properly tightened (see the page on
torque).
CAUTION:
It may be necessary to readjust both the wheel
locks and casters.
Options – Adjustable backrest upholstery
Adjustable Backrest Upholstery
The sling can be adapted to any
degree of tension by adjusting the
Velcro fasteners. The padding in
the backrest can be removed
through an interior opening, allo-
wing you to cushion the backrest
according to your individual needs.
