Device concept
The CrashBox Robacta Drive CMT PAP has been specifically designed for moun-
ting on the robot arm and for holding gas-cooled and water-cooled Robacta Drive
CMT PAP drive units. The welding torch hosepack runs through the CrashBox
and then through the robot arm.

The CrashBox Robacta Drive CMT PAP
is a safety device used in robot wel-
ding.
In the event of a collision, the Crash-
Box sends a signal to the robot control,
which stops the robot immediately.
The spring-mounted torch holder on
the CrashBox protects the CMT PAP
drive unit from damage should a colli-
sion occur, provided the permitted
CrashBox deflection is not exceeded
(see "Technical data"). It is reset to the
original position after a collision.
