10.4. Installation
For correct operation, the Peak Controller requires a reference of the main grid connection
point capacity rating. This can be provided by setting the DIP Switches on the bottom of the
Peak Controller as close as possible and below or equal to the current rating of the main grid
connection of the household.
After the Peak Controller has been installed according to its Installation Guide on the
correct positioning, it must be connected to the main power and charging equipment.
For single phase households and installations with SunPower Drive 7.4 kW:
Connect the live conductor to L1
Connect the neutral wire to N
Connect to the black wire of the current sensor to I1- and the red wire of the current sensor
to I1+
The current sensor clamp connects around the mains live conductor directly at the load side
of the main circuit breaker.
For three phase households and installations with SunPower Drive 22kW:
Connect the three live conductors of phases 1, 2 and 3 to L1, L2 and L3
Connect the neutral wire to N
Connect to the black wires of the current sensors for phases 1, 2 and 3 respectively to I1-,
I2-, and I3- and the red wires to I1+, I2+ and I3+
The current sensor clamps connects around the mains live conductors for phases 1, 2 and 3
directly at the load side of the main circuit breaker.
The communication between the Peak Controller and SunPower Drive happens via an Ethernet
/ LAN cable. This can be a direct connection to the EV Charger, or via the local network. The
same Ethernet Port used for Internet communication on the back of the charger is used for the
communication to the Peak Controller.
