5 Metal Tape Selector
Press the METAL button for playing metal or chromium dioxide (CrO-) tapes. The "MTL" indicator will
te illuminated.

Press the button again for playing normal tape.The "MTL" indicator will be turned off.
Note; Wrong setting will cause high frequency imbalance.

| 1 Cassette Slot
|; @ Insert the cassette with the exposed tape side facing to the right. Gently push the cassette in until
the mechanism captures the cassette.
@ After the loading is completed, the display changes to
" 'APE" and the tape program indicator
or 'V) will be illuminated, playback starts.
| 2 Tape Program Selector
' Press both buttons ("<<~, -»»") firmly if you want to change the program of tape play.
Press the O09 button to set the Dolby NR mode. "0B" indicator will be iiuminated. To cancel the Dolby
NR mode, press the same button again.
Note: The Dolby NR circuit does not operate in the tuner (radio) mode.

Tapes not suitable for TPS operation:
The TPS circuitry may not function properly for tapes described below, causing tapes to stop midway

3 Rewind/Fast Forward
@ Press the «>> button for fast forward. The tape program indicator (& or VW) blinks. When the tape
reaches its end, Auto Reverse will operate and play back the opposite side of the tape.

@ Press the «4<* button for rewind. The tape program indicator (4 or YW) blinks. When the tape is fully

rewound, the same side of the tape will be played.

@ Tapes which contain intermittent sound program, such as conversation, lectures, news, pianissimo-

4 To eject the tape
Press the "4" button and the cassette will pop out for removal, and the previous mode oi operation will
be resumed.
Note: The cassette tape should always be removed from the cassette slot when not in use.

_ We strongly recommend not using tapes longer than C-90 (90 minutes), unless absolutely necessary.
