Installation

Install the device carefully and only in accordance with the safety notes
(see the "Safety" chapter).
▶
The installation steps stated below must be carried out very precisely.
Operation under difficult conditions, e.g. on ships or in strong sunlight, requires additional
measures to be taken for correct installation, depending on the operating location.
Further information and instructions on this can be obtained on request from your
designated sales contact.
DANGER! Explosion hazard due to short circuit caused by different conductor
cross-sections in the same clamping unit!
Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries.

Only use one conductor cross-section per clamping unit.

Select suitable conductors that do not exceed the permissible heating temperature
within the enclosure.

Ensure that the specified cross sections are used.
▶
Attach the core end sleeves properly.

For ≤ M20 cable entries made of plastic, special measures are required. Please refer to
the operating instructions of the cable entries for further information.
6.2.1 Conductor Connection
▶
Ensure that the distances between Ex e electrical circuits and Ex i electrical circuits
comply with standards (IEC/EN 60079-11).
▶
Select suitable conductors that do not exceed the permissible heating temperature within
the enclosure.
▶
Ensure that conductors have the specified cross sections.
▶
Adapt the stripping length to the thread size of the mantle terminal;
see the "Technical data" chapter.
▶
Guide the conductor insulation so that it reaches the terminals.
▶
Do not damage the conductor when stripping the insulation (e.g. by denting it).
▶
Fit the core end sleeves properly using a suitable tool.
▶
If the system is equipped with all possible terminals and live conductors, and the maximum
current load has been reached, ensure that the length of a conductor from the screw
connection to the clamping unit does not exceed the diagonal planes of the enclosure.
