Safety Instructions for Experts
Below are some additional safety instructions to draw
experts' attention to particular dangers associated with
installing and repairing Truma products.
Read and observe the following information to pro-
tect yourself and your surroundings.
Installation, dismantling and repair work must comply
with the local conditions and regulations and the recog-
nised rules of engineering.
Observe statutory accident prevention regulations.
Observe personal protective equipment regulations.
Observe statutory environmental protection
regulations.
If applicable, observe regulations for occupational
insurance schemes.
2.1
Handling fuels
All fuel lines (diesel pipes, gas pipes) must be connect-
ed tightly and must not be damaged. If damage or
leaks are detected in fuel pipes, the appliance must not
be operated until the damage has been remedied.
When gas or diesel pipes are opened, residual gas or
diesel may escape.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Do not inhale vapours.
No smoking, no naked flames.
2.2
Handling exhaust gases
Due to the danger of poisoning and suffocation, gas-
and diesel-consuming appliances must not be operated
in enclosed spaces, such as garages or workshops,
without the use of exhaust gas extraction or a ventila-
tion system.
This applies also when the appliance can be operated
with remote control units, such as preset times or timer
functions in control panels, remote controls, apps on
mobile devices or the Diagnose Tool.

Ensure adequate ventilation. Switch on the ventila-
tion system or extraction system.
Carry out more protracted function tests outdoors,
outside of enclosed spaces.
2.3
Handling hot surfaces
The surfaces of some components may become very
hot. Depending on the type of appliance, these can
include the exhaust cowl, exhaust duct, heat exchang-
er, burner, flame tube, electric heating rods, warm air
ducts, fans, installation boxes, etc.
Do not touch hot surfaces.
If a test run is carried out during installation or repair,
some appliance parts may become very hot.
Do not touch parts until they have cooled down
again.
Remnants of installation material may ignite on hot sur-
faces during start-up.
Following installation, remove flammable material
(such as paper, cardboard, polystyrene, wood shav-
ings, adhesives) from any surfaces that may become
hot.
2.4
Handling electricity
Only qualified electricians may work on electrical
systems.
Observe country-specific and voltage-related rules
and regulations.
Take account of the vehicle's specific features.
Ensure the necessary workplace safety and wear
personal protective equipment.
2.5
Mains voltage 230 V~
Some parts of the appliance may be live. Touching live
parts can be fatal or lead to serious injuries.
When working on electrical installations or compo-
nents, switch off the power supply, for example by
means of fuses or residual current circuit-breakers
on the vehicle's main distribution board. Prevent the
power supply from being switched back on.
Motor homes and caravans may have self-sufficient
230 V~ power supplies (e.g. inverter, generator, solar
panels).
Pay heed to self-sufficient power supply.
Motor homes and caravans may have an external sock-
et for mains supply.
Make sure when carrying out electrical work in the
vehicle that no other person can unintentionally plug
a live connector cable into the external socket.
External power supply should be prevented for this
purpose. For example, insert a blanking plug with
the warning "Caution! Electrical work under way in
the vehicle" into the external socket.
