Special conditions
1. It must be ensured that the conditions fixed in "Temperature tables" are fulfilled
regarding class of temperature and liner material with respect to the ambient and
fluid temperature.
The remote transmitter version has an approved ambient temperature range of
-20...+50 °C, and Temperature Class T6.
2. The maximum values on terminals 20 to 27 of transmitter type Promag 30 are
U
= 260 V and I
= 500 mA.

3. It is only permitted to open the instrument after observing a cooling time of ten
minutes after power has been removed.
4. Potential matching must exist along all current loops. It is to be ensured that the
sensor is connected to the potential matching system.
For the remote version of II2G/II3G resp. Zone 1/2 the following applies additionaly:

5. All national regulations governing installation and operation regulations are to be
observed when mounting this electrical device in an explosion hazardous area
(Cat. 3G).
6. Before switching on the device, ensure that the local power supply complies with
the range stated on the nameplate.
7. Repairs (e.g. changing the fuse or electronics module) may only be carried out
when circuits are not alive.
8. All technical data issued by the manufacturer are to be observed.
9. For transmitters installed in zone 2, cable entries are to be used which fulfil the
requirements of the applicable standards according to category 3G.
10. In the remote version, the cable specified by the manufacturer must be used
between the sensor and transmitter (see cable specifications page 8).
11. The maximum ambient temperature for the transmitter electronics is +50 °C and
the T5 temperature class.
General warnings
• Mounting, electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance are to be carried
out by qualified personnel only who are also trained in explosion protection.
• All national regulations concerning the installation of instruments in explosion
hazardous areas must be observed.
• It must be ensured that the fluid to be measured has no harmful impact on the
liner material.

• In the Ex version the electronics housing can also be rotated in 90° steps. Instead
of a bayonet catch like in the standard version, it turns over a thread. The pits to
center the safety Allen head screw are arranged in 90° steps to prevent any
unwanted turning of the electronics housing. During operation, the electronics
housing may be turned by max. 180° (in either direction) without infringing upon
the Ex regulations.
• For rotating the display, it is only permitted to open the housing screw cover after
power has been removed.
