3. Calibrating the sample volume
Sample volume calibration must always be done when operating with a flow
proportional sampling system, when:

The unit is to initially commissioned in a new installation position
·
The sample times have been manually changed
·
The sampling conditions have been changed (hose length)
·
A new dosing glass has been installed.
What need to be done:
"3 samples" must be selected in menu address Set->Service->Calibration-
>Dosing volume. The sampler takes 3 samples one after the other, these are
all set to a defined size (approx. 140 ml). The stepper motor resets to this va-
lue at the beginning of each sample sequence. Three samples are taken in or-
der to optimise the repeatability of the measurement.
The volume of the three samples must be measures (using a measuring bea-
ker or scales) and then saved in the unit once the sampling sequences have
been completed. In order to do this select the menu address Dosing volume-
>save. An editable three digit number for the dosing volume in the display.
Here the measured value in ml must be entered and acknowledged with Re-
turn. Then leave the service mode.
This menu address is not locked out by the service code.
Now the unit has been calibrated and is operational. The controller is now rea-
dy to calculate every volume position of the stepper motor.
4. Setting up
The following software changes have been made to the standard operating
manual:

Definition of the new setting up parameters in programme mode flow:
In this sampling mode a simple time cycle for the spacing of individual sam-
pling sequences is set up.
The volume factor determines the ratio between the actual flow (at time of
sampling) and the dosing volume.
