3. Safety
3.1 Layout of the safety instructions
The following safety instructions may be shown in the operating
manual with varying hazard levels that must be observed:

DANGER indicates imminently hazardous
dangers, which can result in death or

WARNING indicates dangers that can
result from incorrect behaviour and

CAUTION indicates potentially hazar-

3.3 Product safety
3.3.1 Intended use
The device is exclusively designed for cutting EPS/XPS polystyrene boards, EPS primer boards, PUR and PIR polyurethane boards.
3.3.2 Foreseeable misuse – NOT PERMITTED –
• operation in areas with explosion protection
• Unintended use
• Modifications to the device
• Use of wear parts not approved by the manufacturer
• Operation while it is raining
• Touching the hot wire
• Changing the wire with the device switched on
• Operation with a defective cable or transformer housing
• Operating the device if not set up stably or unsafe attachment of the device on the frame rail
In addition to the previously mentioned safety instructions, the
following pictograms with the adjacent meaning may be included:
Prohibition of an action or activity related to a
source of danger, where failure to observe may
lead to serious accidents.
Warning of the danger represented by the picto-
gram.
Prohibition of an action or activity related to
handling a source of danger, where failure to
observe may lead to serious accidents.
