Never enter unventilated tanks, pits, canals, etc. when wearing
filter equipment.
Do not use in oxygen-enriched atmospheres.
The oxygen content of the ambient air must not drop below the
following limit values:
at least 17 Vol.% oxygen in all European countries except for
the Netherlands, Belgium, UK
at least 19 Vol.% oxygen in the Netherlands, Belgium, UK,
Australia and New Zealand.

Fitting the mask/helmet combination and
checking its operability
WARNING
!
Beards and sideburns in the sealing range of the full-face
mask will cause leaks! Therefore, the mask/helmet
combination should not be used by anyone with facial hair of
this sort. Spectacle frames in the sealing range also cause
leaks. Use mask spectacles.
1. Adjust the adapter bag and the inner fittings of the helmet.

The adapter bags and the inner fittings must fit accurately to
ensure that the mask is leak-tight.
Extreme head shapes can cause incompatibilities or
leakages.
2. Comb your hair backwards away from your forehead. The
forehead must be free of hair for the mask to fit tightly.
3. Don the head protection, leave chin strap open.

4. Place the carrying strap around your neck.
5. Take hold of both mask/helmet adapters, then place the upper
edge of the mask against your forehead under the head protection.
6. Tighten both mask/helmet adapters by simultaneously pulling
them to the rear and clip them into the adapter bags of the head
protection.
7. Adjust the full-face mask and loosely close the chin strap of the
head protection under your chin.
8. Let an assistant check that the full-face
mask fits well. The clamping elements
(1) must be tensioned; if not, adjust the
hairnet in the head protection.
9. Seal the equipment connector and breathe in until negative
pressure is produced. Hold your breath for a moment.
The negative pressure should be maintained. No air from the
outside must enter the full-face mask. Repeat the leak test twice.
10. Checking the exhalation valve: Seal the equipment connector and
breathe out forcefully.
The exhaled air must be able to escape without obstruction. If not,
replace the exhalation valve.
11. Grease the seal of the ESA plug-in connector with silicone grease
(e.g. Molykote 111), if necessary. The demand valve can then be
easily connected.
12. Connect the self-contained open-circuit breathing apparatus, the
hose breathing respirator or the respiratory filter.
13. Check that the demand valve is securely fitted by turning it and
pulling on it forcefully.
Have the tightness and correct connection checked by a second
person.
