Filter Unit Damage

Filter units can be damaged by impacts, e.g., falling or collision. Damaged
filter units could cause injury to people.
Do not use filter units after an impact; dispose of them.
t
2.7

Heavy

The filter unit is heavy. When lifting and transporting the filter units, there is
a risk of injury, e.g., as a result of the filter unit dropping.
Get help from others when lifting and transporting the device.
t
Sartorius recommends the use of a suitable lifting device to lift and
t
transport the filter unit, e.g., Lifting Gear Maxicaps
2.8

Lifting Gear

If using a lifting gear to transport the filter unit: People could be seriously in-
jured if the lifting gear is used incorrectly, e.g., as a result of the filter unit
dropping.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
t
Fasten the lifting gear at the suitable positions (see Chapter "9 Trans-
t
port", page 40).
2.9

Media Under Pressure

If the system is subjected to excessive pressure, people could be injured by
the bursting of tubes, connections, or other system components.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
t
Do not exceed the maximum operating pressure (for the maximum op-
t
erating pressure, see the filter unit label).
Use a pressure monitor.
t
Do not carry out liquid transfer processes unsupervised.
t

2.10 System Rolls Away

If the trolley accidentally rolls away by itself: The trolley could injure people.
Only place the system on level surfaces.
t
Activate the two parking brakes on the castors.
t
2.11

System Tips Over
